Week Two, Session One

Today's class consisted of presenting our independent research and concepts in smaller groups, and receiving critique on our ideas. We started off by showing our moodboards, and then the 6 concepts that Jeremy and I had come up with over the past week. We got some good feedback on each of these, and the other students gave their opinion on which ones they liked the most, or thought had the most potential for development.

Following this, we did some brainstorming as a class (split into two bigger groups based on the chosen topic) and came up with a lot more in-depth ideas. Once we came back together as a class, we had 10 minutes to come up with 10 ideas, as a means of rapid ideation. However, most of the class only managed to get around 6. I managed 6 in that time, mainly because I had already done 3 pages of rapid ideation over the last week, already generating over 36 thumbnail sketches of my initial ideas. We then chose the best ideas between our group, refined them ourselves, and then another group got to choose our best idea and have a go at refining it themselves.

Towards the end of the class we presented our best ideas in front of the class. The class quite liked the idea I had drawn up of the human eating a fish, eating another fish, eating trash. They thought it was really effective in terms of it's symbolism, and they thought the tagline was very fitting "Trash isn't only consumed once".
